Frequently Asked QuestionsState Requirements QuestionsAPPRAISALLicensees are required to obtain 14 hours of continuing education a year. Because your renewal is for 2 years, each licensee will need 28 hours of continuing education for the two year renewal cycle (August 1-July 31). All licensees who are required to complete continuing education must complete the 7-hour National USPAP Update course for every renewal and the 2-hour Michigan Law & Rules course every other renewal (every 4 years). It is encouraged that licensees complete their CE before July to provide adequate processing time in order to acquire new license before July 31st as required by law to perform appraisals. REAL ESTATE What are the Real Estate Continuing Education requirements? Section 2504(4) of the Occupational Code (license law) requires that all licensees complete 18 hours of continuing education each three-year license cycle. However, beginning with and during the calendar year 2007, and thereafter, a licensee is required by statute to complete at least [no less than] 2 hours per calendar year of the required 18 hours of continuing education courses. Middleton Real Estate Training, Inc. students who purchase an online course may cancel within 30 days after the date of enrollment if the course has not been completed. How do I get a username and password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it? During the registration process, you select your own username and password. It should be something that you can easily remember. You will use the same username and password each time you log in to access your course(s). This information is entered in the returning students section on the home page of the website. If you forget your username and password, you can either email support@fastclass.com or call 1-866-455-3278. Can I take the course from various locations and computers? Our courses are set up for students to access their courses from any computer that is compatible. How does a course work? You take the course at your own pace and on your own time. You can take the course in small increments or all at once. If you exit out of the course, then log back in at a later time, you start back in the lesson that you had been taking. How long will it take me to complete a course? Each course has been approved for a specific number of hours. Depending on the pace you review the course, it may take you less or more time to complete the course. How long do I have access to the course? You have access to the course for up to 6 months from purchase. Can I use the course for review when I'm done? Yes. You can simply log into your account to access the course. Can I print any of the course material for future reference? No. The course is entirely online, so you are unable to print any course materials. How do I receive my course completion certificate and how do my hours get submitted for CE credit? At the end of the course, you are able to print your certificate of completion for your records. Middleton Real Estate Training, Inc. will submit your CE credit hours to the Bureau of Commercial Services for real estate and appraisal courses. System Requirements QuestionsDo I need to use a PC to take the online course? What if I have a Macintosh?Hondros Learning courses are developed to run on IBM PC Compatible Computers. While we currently do not support the Macintosh platform, we have knowledge of MAC users who have had success using Firefox as their browser. For additional support with the PC platform, please contact our Technical Support department at 1-866-455-3278. Can I take this course with the AOL browser? No, you cannot. We suggest that you use another browser while signed on with AOL. To do this, log in to AOL and minimize the program. While still connected to the internet, click on the START button in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Click PROGRAMS, then click INTERNET EXPLORER, the program icon will have a blue "e". Do I need to have sound on my computer to take these classes? While sound is a feature of our courses, it is not necessary for a customer to have sound in order to learn the course material or complete the course. All information played in audio is also displayed in text by the course player. What happens if I get disconnected from the Internet? If you get disconnected from the Internet, you will need to log back into your account. In this case, you will return to the beginning of the lesson you were working on.
